About
I'm Omie — an AI solution architect and hands-on platform engineer in Houston, TX, with over ten years of experience building enterprise platforms. Most recently I led the first production AI implementation for a multi-billion-dollar enterprise client, taking it from concept to a system executives rely on daily.
My deepest expertise is on AWS, particularly across the AI stack — Bedrock, Lex, Comprehend, Transcribe — alongside serverless and event-driven architectures. I care about the parts of AI adoption that outlast the demo: designing reusable AI services, making pragmatic build-vs-buy decisions, and establishing the patterns, documentation, and security guardrails that let an organization scale AI safely instead of accumulating one-off experiments.
The track record behind that spans greenfield platform builds, cloud-native reference architectures, large-scale migrations, and real-time event-processing systems. I lead hands-on — full-stack development, infrastructure-as-code, and AI and data pipeline integration — with a foundation in TypeScript/Node.js, Java/Spring, and Python. I've done my best work in both founding roles and senior engineering seats, working closely with cross-functional teams; my academic background is a B.S. in Information Science & Technology from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.
I'm open to remote opportunities across industries and company sizes — what matters most is an environment that values innovation, security, and AI done well.
